Blue trekking along the Elsa River

A trekking day between land and water, to let you dive into another dimensiona along one of the most known fluvial routes of the area: the Elsa Route. It is a fluvial corridor between the Sienese Chianti and the city of San Gimignano, rich in vegetation: you will feel like you are just walking in the middle of a rainforest rather than an Italian river!

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to take you to Colle Val d’Elsa, a characteristic hamlet from the Renaissance. You will start your route by walking at the bottom of the beautiful Diborrato waterfall, to then continue along the river for about 4 km. This river starts on the slopes of the Sienese Montagnola, but its real ‘secret’ is its supply of resurgive water in “Le Vene” and thermal water in “Le Caldane”. At the end of the route you will explore this spectacular river even up closer, with a rafting boat.

With the crew you will come together like a little group of explorers, ready to overcome any obstacle (such as the Elsa limestone tanks), working as a team, helping each other with the transhipment of the rafting boat into the river.

After the rafting experience you will relax with a picnic along the sides of the river until the driver will bring you back to the hotel. Comfortable clothes, and most importantly waterproof for the rafting, and trekking shoes are required (an additional pair of shoes and socks is also recommended); you can even bring a swimsuit with you if ever you’ll want to take a dip in the river.
