Colle di Val d’Elsa and the Cristallo
The Colle di Val D’Elsa area is an Italian center for the production of crystal, an excellence that has its origins more than 800 years ago.
This is why our visit will start from a historical factory, where we will be able to admire the various stages of crystal processing, blowing, modeling and finishing, which bring the skilled glass masters to create splendid works of art, which we can see in the large show. room, where you can also buy. After a lunch break we will move to visit the historic center of Colle di Val D’Elsa, a village of Etruscan origin, unjustly left out of the more traditional tourist routes, despite the proximity to San Gimignano. We will walk along the main street of the old city, perched high on a hill, we will stop for some photographs in the most beautiful panoramic points, we will see some medieval tower houses, including the one where the famous architect of the Florence Cathedral was born, Arnolfo di Cambio , but also splendid examples of Renaissance architecture, such as the Porta Nuova, the Duomo and Palazzo Campana.
